ingmar bergman  Ingmar Bergman’s house and assets will be auctionedThe famous house of Ingmar Bergman on the Baltic island of Faro and more personal goods (including its famous “magic lantern”) will be auctioned, this being a personal desire of filmmaker before he die.

“This is my wish and should not provoke discussion or emotional scandals”; said Bergman in 2007, shortly before he died at home in Faro. The house was brought to auction in May this year; the starting price was set at 4 million.

Personal belongings of filmmakers will be exposed three days in Stockholm (24-27 September), and on 28 will be auctioned at Bukowski’s. Among the objects are the light (which led, it seems to become a filmmaker), a doll that appears in the film Persona, one black and white portraits made by photographer Irving Penn and the office where he wrote scenarios.

More cultural and political personalities from Sweden were shocked because auctions, charging that the government is not able to manage the legacy of one of the marked personalities of culture world and that Sweden will lose “heritage objects”. Ingmar Berga died on 30 July 2007, at the age of 89 years.
